VZ Navigator for Droid X???

Can people please comment on whether the Droid X either comes with VZ Navigator, or whether VZ Navigator is available as an optional service for the Droid X? I purchased my Droid X in a corporate store on the morning of July 15. Every employee in the store insisted that Verizon does not allow/provide VZ Navigator on/for the Droid X. Is that right?

While on the phone tonight with customer service clarifying my account, the customer service person insisted the VZ Navigator is definitely an optional service for the Droid X. He could not understand why it was not on my Droid X. He kept telling me different things to try and find it on my Droid X. About this time, tech support closed. The customer service person added VZ Navigator to my Droid X acccount (for an addition charge/fee) and told me to contact tech support tomorrow to get it on my Droid X. Is this possible? Could people please comment, and if possible please tell me where you learned/received your info? Many thanks.

The Droid X is absolutely wonderful! If you do not have one now, it is well worth any wait. Good luck to all. Please help with question above about whether VZ Navigator is available for the Droid X.

The Droid X is being marketed as having complete google integration and that includes Google maps with voice.  So you get the turn by turn directions and voiced instructions for free.  It is probably possible to use VZ Navigator because I was offered the service when ordering online, but it has not been advertised because it is not needed for the Droid X.  That is probably why the in-store reps argued that it wasn't available.

VZ Navigator capable via the Android Market.  Taken directly from the VZW web site for specs for the device.

Why you use VZ Nav when you have Google Maps Navigation and don't have to pay a extra $10 a month?

On the reason to use VZ Navigator for Droid X, my guess (this is not based upon my experience) is VZ Navigator for Droid X has re-routing capability whereas Google Maps Navigation does not.

[If someone would tell me some way to do re-routing other than by driving off-course I would appreciate knowing it!]

I've got both of them on my phone and all is well.

It turns out the Navigation app Traffic View layer has a re-routing feature.  I'm looking for something that's equivalent to what's on VZ Navigator.  I'll see if this is sufficient when I get a chance to use it.
