I am having issues with Vcast detecting my DroidX. I have installed the latest version of Vcast (twice), updated all the drivers and upgraded the Droid system, and still I get the "Phone not detected" message. I am running Windows XP SP3, and I can access the file system of the DroidX from Windows Explorer, and the phone is charging and recognizes the USB connection, so I know the thing is actually interfacing. But there is no response from Vcast when I plug it in, and "Phone not detected" when I start it manually and tell it to "Connect My Device." Any ideas?

I was having the same problem and figured out why this morning. While its connected to the PC you need to change the USB mode to "Windows Sync" on the phone. To do this, connect the phone, click on the Menu button on the main screen and select Notifications.
Click USB Connection from the list and you have 4 choices:
PC Mode
Windows Media Sync
USB Mass Storage
Charge only
When you select Windows Media Sync VCAST will then see the Droid X immediately.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have been beating my head against a rock for the past 2 weeks trying to solve this problem. Suffice to say that Verizon's user guides and troubleshooting has a long way to go!

Oops. The USB recommendation (above) now permits me to see the Droid X via Windows file explorer and V cast now sees the phone, but does ot see any photos or videos on the phone. Windows file explorer will have to do for now.....

This VCAST MEDIA manager software is a POC !!! Come ON Verizon engineers, make this product USABLE!
For the life of me I can't get this thing working to the point that I can SIMPLY just launch the application (on my laptop), Connect my DROID X, and MANAGE the Picture Folders ... And Yes, I have the MOTO driver installed.
