Just downloaded (and didn't like) Madden 2011 'trial' that comes with the 2.2.1 update. Is there instructions available to uninstall the application. I would like to save the space used for other usefull purpose.
Tx.

Sorry, but that's one of the "freebies" Verizon and/or Motorola gave us with the update. In other words, we're stuck with it just like were stuck with other ""freebies" Verizon/Motorola stuck on "our" phone, and can not be deleted.

Head on over to XDA forums, and within a few days they'll have this update stripped of ALL the Verizon bloat, and tweaks to be better.

You can not remove the app but if you would like to remove the data for game and downloaded information you can delete the .madden10 from SD Card and this will restore almost 200 mb and have game require information to be redownloaded when app is rab again.

What folder is that in on the SD card? I can't seem to find it to delete it. (I have never actually launched the Madden App - so maybe it's not there until I launch it?)
Thanks

Come on, Verizon. Stop installing software on MY phone that I don't ask for. Or at the very least, give me an option to delete it.
You are my service provider, but this is MY phone and I should have the final say on what is installed on it. Particularly for software that is in no way considered essential or critical to the operation of the phone.
For crying out loud, installing a GAME (nearly 100MB no less!) on my phone and not letting me delete it. What are you thinking?
Yeah, I know, Madden NFL pays you for putting their crap on my phone, but at least let me delete it. Remember, I am your customer and I am also paying you.

Amen! The only way I could have said it better would require words that would get my post deleted. I am looking for a new carrier because of this. It is completely unacceptable.

You people who are so concerned about some apps on your Droid X's taking up valuable space.... are you really running out of space? With 8GB internal memory and a 32GB card, does 1 or 2 hundred MB's really make that much difference?
Remember, most likely in 12 to 18 months (or less) you'll be getting a new phone anyway, and the bloatware on your old Droid X will just be a memory. (no pun intended)
Really, there has to be more important things in your life to worry about.
Remember the quote by Arthur from the movie by the same name, "Isn't fun the best thing to have?"

Doesn't bother me as it's just another colorful app I flick by and don't use.

Several phone calls and tech support people later, still not removed. The Verizon tech support were clueless that this even existed. Duh! Great big press release. Verizon signs exclusive deal with NFL . . blah, blah, blah. So the Verizon tech support sent me to the Motorola tech support. Their response was basically you have to take it and shove it. Don't like it, call Google. Okay. Motorola tech support gives me a tech support for Google that is bogus! I enjoy being treated like this so much, I went and looked at phones at AT&T tonight. Verizon can either fix this or I'm gone! Stop passing blame. Verizon signed the deal with the NFL. Verizon controls what apps are included in any updates.

So how did the cable/satellite company react when you called them to complain about the cable channels you are paying for, but don't care to watch?
Oh, wait......

At leaset with the cable company I can avoid the channels.
The bottom line is that I should have some say in what apps go onto my phone. I understand that when I purchased the phone it had apps on it that I may not use. Given. So does my computer, but I can delete them. Verizon "forces" us to accept the apps that they choose. Maybe if I move to a communist country, until then, I should have a choice on the phone that I paid for.

You really took the time to call Verizon and Motorola tech support in an attempt to uninstall the NFL app? It's a little colored icon on your phone that's very easy to just ignore!!!
As for the 200MB's..... the Droid X has 8 GB's of internal memory and with a 32GB memory card giving a total of 40,000 MB's. You could have 100 of the NFL apps on your phone and still have almost 20 GB's of memory available.
Also I get it when you say it's your phone and should have some say it what's on it, but it's app like that the make the phone available to you for only $199 and not a higher amount.
My suggestion..... don't sweat the small stuff, because most likely in 18 months or less you have dumped the "X" for a LTE phone and the NFL app on your Droid will be a moot point and will be forgotten like the "salad shooter".

Yep. Once I purchased the phone the only apps that should be put on my phone are the ones I choose. OS updates are one thing, but crap is another. The Droid X is mainly for work. Not a fun toy. I need a phone with work related applications. I will NEVER use madden and I should have the choice to delete it.
