Just like all of you that signed for another two years of contract with Verizon and paid $300 for a phone, I was promised one delivery date to find out it was all a lie. Fine.... Got my phone almost one month later without any explanation or concern from Verizon at all.
But it gets better. My phone came defective.... Sure it could happen with anybody or any device. Called Verizon and their response to my problem is WAIT ANOTHER MONTH. hahaha.... So I paid for a product that was delivered late. I paid for the extra insurance/warranty that they pushed during the sell, and now that the phone is bad there is no priority service? Nothing....????????? I asked for my order to cancelled and my money returned, since the phone never really worked out of the box, and they said they need to look into it and call me back. It has been a few hours now....
Wow.... I'm so mad and amazed of the disrespect Verizon has shown their custumers.....
Shame on you............

I have a tough time believing the phone arrived A WHOLE MONTH...30 Days later than the original delivery date. Not one other person on here has had that issue.
As for a replacement, if you want a new one, you will have to wait for a phone to be built.
If you have had the phone less than 30 days, just take the phone back and get a refund.
What exactly is wrong with the phone?

Sales person when he sold the phone to me said the phone would arrive in a maximum of 20 days. But he was sure that I would get the phone within 14 days. I guess he was just trying to sell the **bleep** thing. I believed him. Got the phone 26 days later.
The problem with the phone is just one. It will not connect to the mobile network. Only Wi-Fi. They tried everything from reprograming it to doing an internal data reset etc....
Verizon in my opinion should not be selling a phone they cannot keep up with damand. It puts all the ones that bought the phone in a crappy situation. When they sell you an insurance/warranty saying they will replace the phone if something happens, you should not have to wait for 3-4 weeks. That is just bad business conduct. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this position. Phones break like anything else. I have a friend that got the iphone4 and after two days it stopped working. She went back and they replaced the phone for her the same day. They actually have extra phones because they know phones will break and they have to provide a service. Where is the planning from Verizon? Where is the care for the custumer? All they care is to make money.....
Im very disappointed.....

I understand the frustration of not knowing when the phone will arrive. I have followed the Shipping date thread for a long time.
Couple questions about the mobile network not working. I am guessing you can not go to any internet sites?
Does the phone show the 3G icon?
Under Menu>Settings>Wireless&Networks Make sure Mobile Network is check Marked (I am certain you know that!)
Under Mobile Networks, System select is to be set to Automatic A. I also have data roaming check marked also as for the most part I am always where I would not pay additional charges.

I assume when he said "they", he meant Verizon. So if they didn't know that very basic thing..the workers that was assisting him seriously fail.
Good luck, I hope you don't have to get a whole new phone.. and if so.. you get one shipped to you with the ability of being exempted from the wait.

That is where my frustration comes from. Not that the phone does not work. Not even the delay of the first shipment. It is the lack of care, the indifference they show towards the problems the Droid Inc supply has caused. The phone could not be repaired through their technical support nor through in store "experts". I must return it and wait like I'm a new custumer buying another phone. I was told that there is no priority treatment for my case. Even though the phone came defective and I have the so called insurance/warranty I paid extra for. I must wait the 3 to 4 week period. What is more insulting is that when I went in today to return the phone they looked offended that I wanted my money back and wanted to keep my old storm instead. I also asked for my 2 year renewal that I signed because of the purchase to be canceled.
I like the phone....but it is no iphone4 that is for sure. I have lost complete interest and I'm just going to wait until next year to see if the iphone comes to Verizon. I'll stick to my BB or wait until I'm calm again to actually enjoy this device. Verizon has simply ruined this whole experience for me....hahaha... I know sounds dramatic, but I was actually looking forward to having this phone.....
Yes to the previous post..... all the configurations were checked by me, technical support and sales rep..... got a lemon....
I have to say the representative I spoke with on the phone was very nice. She admitted that the system is faulty and someone did drop the ball big time. But smart phones is big business and as long there is high demand, the few that get screwed are just ignored.

I've waited a month for mine. Still waiting. Not so hard for me to believe. Although Id just take it to the store and get my $$ back. That seems like a no-brainer.

I did return the phone for a full refund. They tried to convince me to wait for another one which would come in 4-6 weeks. LOL. simply ridiculous.
The manager of the store was very sympathetic. He did admit he was embarrassed and felt Verizon had put every sales person in a very unconfortable position.
He did offer me a $50 off my bill for next month.
I'm back on my BB storm. I waited almost one month for the incredible. Had to wait for another 6 weeks for a replacement. No thanks..... I'll take my chances with another company or maybe another device. Thanks everyone for the replies...

I understand what you are going through. I am so afraid of defective equipment too. I currently have a BB 8330, and it was out of warranty on June 15, same date I ordered the DINC. After nearly every week of having to wipe my BB I call Verizon and ask for any solution other than wiping the phone. The CSR suggested that I pay the insurance on the BB and get a new phone for the next 10 days until the DINC is supposedly shipped. That doesn't sound like a company that cares about customer service. Give me more money. My bill is paid off for a DINC I don't even have. Shame on me for paying my cell bill. I should have bought out of my contract and went to another company.
So, I ended up wiping my phone...again. Now I'm waiting for July 12th... or 13th, or 14th or the Oops sorry it'll be an additional 7 days letter.
Good luck to you, I hope that Verizon does the right thing.

I can relate with your frustration on the Verizon run around. I too ordered the Droid incredible- new customer.. They shipped me an Eris instead. I shipped back the phone and ordered the Incredible. They had 157. for the Eris, collected an extra 212. for the incredible.
I recieved a bill totaling 157. for My Verizon wireless. My account was NEVER activated.
I found a Droid incredible at Best Buy. After calling customer service, they allowed me to purchase the phone there ONLY after I told them to cancell my account if I walked out of Best Buy without the phone. I now have a new Droid, all my $$ has been refunded and the cost of the my eronious bill was cancelled.
Verizon has good reception, but they need some decent customer service! .
