we have motorola droid phones with static IPs that are provided by verizon. We are able to tether our phones with a laptop and get an internet connection. We are unable to forward any incoming connections to our computers from the phones as of now and thus can not utilize the static IPs for their original intention, which was like you would use a hard wired static IP. Does anyone have experience doing this? I know that having static IPs on a droid is an obscure feature, and you have to be a Verizon business customer, but there certainly must be others trying to do what we are trying to do. Thanks

How did you even get a Static IP from Verizon as I need one for work in order to access work email, and other work related stuff as work servers are secured and only allow connections from whitelisted ips.....
I called Verizon and talked to several people who dont know anything they tell me I have to get a static ip from my employer and well my employer isnt a ISP they dont offer IPs and have no access to verizons systems to provision a static ip so I know they dont know what they are talking about....
So how did you get one???
