Verizon, Will wifi be fixed in the 2.2 update!?!

I have two DX's, mine and my wifes.  We switched over from having iPhones and ATT.  I've read a number of forums and a lot of people are having issues with wifi.  I've read a number of variants on how some people having gotten a stable connection.  We, however, have not.  Some say it has to do with AES or TKIP, WPA or WPA2, or for people with 802.11n routers disabling N, some say it's simply turning security off.  I've try everything expect disable security, and I don't plan on doing that.  If it will not function with security it's of little use.
I have a D-Link DIR-825, which I've had very good luck with other devices (one of the more stable routers I've owned).  On a daily bases it has iPhones, Macbook Pro, Dell Laptop, iMac and various other wifi connections running through it all with no issues.
When I connect the DX's, they connect quickly and are good for about 2 minutes.  Without notice, and while the wifi symbol at the top still showing connected, things just stop.  On occasion I'll see the 3G symbol pop up and then go away, but nothing will work until I disable the wifi and it switches back to 3G.
I noticed this in the logs of the DIR-825 shortly after the DX's connect:
2.4GHz Band Wifi: Wireless system with MAC address XXXXXXXXXXXX disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication
I can re-enable wifi and it works for another minute or two and then nothing.
I've read 'rumors' that this may be fixed in the upcoming 2.2 release, but I would like to know for sure.  I'm still within my 30 day trial and I'm getting nervous not hearing anything from Motorola or Verizon on this issue.
Thanks

I have not experienced any wifi problem other than in order to auto connect to my home router requires that broadcast SSID be enabled.  WAP is enabled, and so is MAC addr filtering on the router, no prpoblem.

I'm having the similar issue with my Wifi.  I want as far as to have Verizon get me a new DX.  I'm have better luck with the new one, but it is still has eratic WiFi behavior.  Unfortunately I haven't for a solution, just confirming the problem.  Hope the 2.2 upgrade resolves the problem.  Other then that I love it.

I have the same issue with WiFi on the Droid X. It works ok for a few minutes and then stops. If I wait for another couple minutes, it starts working again but then stops shortly after. The icon at the top stays on though as if it is still connected.

I have WPA security on my router and I don't broadcast the SSID. I read in a post above that the SSID needs to be visible but I didn't have any problem configuring mine to see the router so don't know what that has to do with it.

I would use WiFi as much as I could with my previous phone but with the Droid X, I don't use it at all due to the connection dropping. I hate to have to use VZW's 3G network all the time but until this issue is fixed, that's my only alternative.

I also noticed that when the screen shuts off to save battery, I do not receive e-mail, text or IM's when connected to WiFi. As soon as I turn the screen back on, they all pop up. If I am connected to 3G, then e-mail, IM and texts all come in normally with no delay.

This is another reason I can't use WiFi with the Droid X. Hope it gets fixed soon.

My D-Link DIR-615 will NOT maintain a secure (WPA-TKIP) wireless connection with Droid X using either "g" or "n".

I happen to also own a Netgear WGT624v3 and it WILL maintain a secure (WPA-TKIP) wireless connection with Droid X using "g".  Been going for 15 hours so far.

No apparent difference in settings...

I was having the same issues on my TP-Link TL-WR1043ND.....

My solution?

I whipped out my old Linksys WRT54GS-TM router, from my T-Mobile days, flashed it with DD-WRT, set it to AP mode only (basically lets the TP-Link router handle the "routing"), and set up a Wireless G connection, now, I run 2 Droid X (one mine, one my roommates) on the same router, and we never have any issues......

My issue with wifi is when it first connects it works good and it needs to because of being in a basement and i get only 1 bar (if that) of 1X. After a while it would hang when surfing the web and icon for wifi shows strong signal and network 1 bar at 1x. Only when i go outside back to 3g and wifi off would it work again.

I have experienced the same issues with my D-Link Dir-625 N router.  It does not hold the connection, tried changing the security settings and other changes that people have suggested with no luck.  Waiting for 2.2 or else i may have to return it for a new one.  Perhaps this issue is related to D-Link routers but that would be absurd since its able to connect but not stay connected.  The HDMI out is a bit slow to display as well on my Plasma.

I have this exact problem with my D-Link 655 router. I also tried it at a friend's house and he also uses a D-Link 655. In both instances, I can connect to the WiFi and the WLAN icon displays at the top of my Droid X -- but after a minute or so I can not access any internet content but the WLAN icon continues to display with a strong signal.

I'm also still in my 30-day trial, and I'm considering returning my phone if this doesn't get resolved soon. I've used many smart phones over the past 5 years and never had any WLAN problems like this. VERY frustrating...
