Verizon to cut return policy to 14 days effective Jan 16th
Posted on Friday, Jan 7, 2011 by Jared DiPane
It appears as though Verizon has a lot more changes then we would have ever predicted coming down the pipeline to start out 2011. First the flood of new LTE devices at CES, then the unknown press conference scheduled for next week, then they changed the upgrade policy for two-year contracts, and now they plan to change their return policy to 14 days instead of 30 days. This change is slated to happen on the 16th of this month and no direct communication has been given as to why the change. Be sure to stay tuned for any further information we receive, and hopefully some official communication from Verizon to better understand the changes.

That is part of the rumor I have read also but I figured it would be some useful information to keep on top of. I am looking to see how many more changes are coming and where this is going to go. Basically my thought of iPhone has not changed, the iPhone is old technology on a restricted os, I just cant get the hype and this is also why the new Thunderbolt looks nice but the device is a twin to the EVO 4G and the MAGIC that has been out for a while and no hardware change is being given....
Who else feels that the phone developers are getting into a habit of resaling the same device over and over in a diffrent label? Appearing that all companies are taking Apples production methods as their guidelines.... Looks like I will be with my Droid X for some time until I see something more original.

Looks like they're making a bunch of changes. None of them consumer friendly. Well, if I feel like a certain fastener that carpenters use to hold two things together, there is always T-Mobile or Sprint. Definitely not AT&T.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Well, it's still not enough to make me jump ship, although I will be signing one-year contracts from now on.
Or looking on Ebay for phones....
Anything I ever wanted to return, I returned it in under 10 days.
I was WAAAAYYY more upset with the 15-minute return policy in the App Market.

Hellow pards good morning) wildman,Geri O,Ann And Crb i think what we got here Guys is 2 little black widows have came out of the closet an more could follow. of cource we don't no that but look what has already happen: i think the reason there doing some of this as the new handsets that are coming out there are more an more features, dual cors all that gooby stuff we like is likely to raise the price of a Device. And because of that shorting the amount of Days would possibley make u think about what ur going to get . I know Alltel had a 15 day return policy accouple years back then they went to 30 Days. an u know i said about those little black widows: there could be other things they could do that could make us think about our next purchase of a phone: like for instance u get a HTC thunderbolt well i've had it for 14 days and just dont like this darn thing or the unit has problem: as it is now ur choice is u can get another unit or you have 1 exchange to get a Different Style phone say like the new moto. But they could change that as well: an Verizon could say u figure out what Model u want an you'll have to stick with that model if there is problem with it u have the 14 day return to get that exact model: after the 14 day period u'll get a refurb . it may sound far fetched but look what they have already done an were only 8 Days in the New Year. And in the Last year Loook at how many Androids have been sold. the X , the incredible they were going out the Door like the cabage Patch Dolls Back in 80's i can remember how popular (they were) i didnt get one! i wasnt into them anyway i loved my toy Trains. But as many Droids went out the door look at how many has came back to Verizon u can kind of see that because of the pre owned one's there selling on there site it wasn't to long a ago the first moto droid left the site but has came back as a pre owned One. and one other thing to add to this when u purchase a new phone u get some money off of it because of going with a new contract: but when u bring it back to the store it hits the store with the (full) price of the phone as i've been told this nermerous of Times by sales reps an Managers And they dont Like that Eather and if think it Doesnt go against the Customer wrong we've been With the company since 2003 first wtih Alltel: an now with Verizon an when they made the Transfer everything from alltel went to verizon everything so if u had returns at alltel there going to see it at Verizon. And it does't madder if the unit u had in the past was bad or not it still hits the store as negative return. One other thing thay could impose is Paying More for Device's longer contracts 3 years instead of 2 or impose Higher ETF's to get out contracts. What i said here Guys an some of it could be just speculation: But then again it could also happen

I'm with Wildman (hope that doesn't tarnish yer rep, LOL). I'm keeping my X, period.
For one, I don't see LTE coming to MS anytime soon (insert jokes about cousins and running water here). And if it did, I don't like the pricing structure on it. And then, I'd darn near HAVE to see a Droid X with an LTE label on it. And how likely is that to happen?
But there's no doubt, it will certainly be an interesting year.

From what I hear about the Iphone, I'll definitely stick with my Droids, a Droid X and a Droid 2 disguised as R2D2. Wildman made an interesting comment, which I agree with, about a manufacturer making different models with the same technology. These two phone, with a few differences, are basically the same phones. If you know about one, you know about the other. But getting back to the eye phone, you can not personalize it as you can the Droids. That's probably the biggest thing. What you get out of the box is what you get out of the box. As for 4G, if you don't download buckets of music, or anything else, why worry about the speed? I'm afraid that we are becoming a sociaty of speed freaks. One second is too long to wait, I want it NOW. I'm probably one of the rare ones that don't need super blast speed. Oh! I download, but a few seconds here or there doesn't matter to me. We do not have 4G in my neck of the woods, yet, but when we do, I won't be pounding on the door for it. Plus, I'm happy with my Droids, and I don't believe that they will be 4G capable.
