I have been a VZ customer for over 10 years & have owned a bunch of "smart phones". I got the X the day It came out & I absolutely love the thing.
I am a computer tech/network administrator so I am usually the one giving tech support as opposed to asking for it, but over the years I have needed to call VZ's tech support on numerous occsions for stuff that needed to be reset at their end etc.
I have been reading on this board a ton of posts criticizing VZ (claiming they're switching to an iphone etc) & I just wanted to start here that I think their CS is super. There are plenty of times I have called when they couldn't immediately solve the problem, but they have been invariably polite & friendly & more than willing to go to whatever lengths it took to solve the problem.
I have never been "lied to" as other posters have claimed. I do a ton of custom work on cell phones & have actually worked on some phones for local VZ techs as I knew a few tricks that they where not aware of ( no fault of theirs, this is not the kind of stuff a tech would normally need to know).
I don't normally post stuff like this, but I just wanted to give some credit where I think it is due.

I agree John. I have had a cell phone for over 10 years now and Verizon has been the only carrier that I have used. Their network is unsurpassed and I have never had an issue with their customer service. And I've called about a few different issues. I've always had my problem dealt with efficiently and courteously.
I called regarding the ship date of my Droid and the customer service representative was very nice. They don't have any more special information than can be obtained from the website when you check on your order. And they aren't told in advance about new phones coming out.
Thanks for creating a positive post for the company! Too many times a company hears complaints and never compliments. I for one like Verizon and am a big advocate for them. I used to work for another phone company, and I never had cell service with them ... even when I could get it at a discounted employee rate. Why? Their network was inferior to Verizon's. You get what you pay for. I tell all my friends, who are complaining about their cell carrier to give Verizon a try.
You can't make all of the people happy all of the time ....
