Very, very slow Gmail

Just got my Droid X yesterday and I'm trying to send 2 pictures that are 1500MB each. I sent the email around 11:00 this morning and it didn't arrive until 2:50 pm. Is it supposed to be this slow?! I tried sending the email again to see if this was a fluke but the email has been "sending" for almost two hours now. I'm waiting for Tech Support to call me back but I'd like to hear from users if this is a common problem.

Holy smokes, those are HUGENORMOUS pictures. 1500mb= 1.5gb for a total of 3GB. Just to give you a comparison, my 20mbps down/ 7mbps up computer connection would take about 2 1/2 hours to upload that. The 3G speed is about 1/8th the speed of my cable so that sounds about right.

Now, if you meant 150mb, then yep it is a little slow.

Oops. A typo there, I meant to say KB not MB.

Pictures have a tendency to slow down the sending procedure. Turning on the wifi might help them move a little faster.

@1.5mb, that should move pretty quickly. Check your data settings and make sure they are not set to send/receive every few hours.
