Voice Recognition - train the phone

New DROID X (2 weeks) - the sales demo guy was able to do all kinds of slick stuff with the voice commands but when I try it my "CALL MOM" turns into a long list of "Did you mean CALL FRED, BOB, JIM, ALICE?"

I'm speaking into the mic and the volume indicator shows it's obviously picking up the voice.

Is there a way to train the phone to my voice (ALA Naturally Speaking)?  Or is this just one of those "your voice doesn't work with our phone" things?

TIA

Al

No you do not need to train the voice command, try checking your mics volume on the device and make sure it is up...  Another thing to keep in miind speaking clear is a must to get the voice command to function properly.  I dictate full sentences on mine for emails and text and the app has been dead on for me.

You can also give Vlingo voice command a try off the Market, I notice the reconition configurations seem to be more accrent at times.

Whether it's required or not, I do know my X has the ability to do so.  I went through the process and most of the time it gets the voice commands right > 90%.

What settings did you go to train voice command because Google voice has a universal voice recognition application that never required training because it is intended to respond to any voice command in multiple languages?
