Good morning...this issue is driving me batty . Every time I turn the phone on, it indicates I have voicemail or "voicemail activity has been received" when in fact there are no voicemails. I check call history and I get the voicemail message even when I haven't had any incoming calls. Is there a setting to stop this?

The voicemail indicator usually stays on if you haven't listened to all voicemails all the way through, as well as the options after each one. Have you tried that?
If that doesn't work, try going to Settings -- Applications -- Manage Apps -- All -- Scroll all the way down to Voicemail, and select it, then select "Clear Cache"

All voicemails were previously deleted (in an attempt to solve the propblem). Cache is reading 0 without clearing...clear button is grayed out. Turned phine off and back on...still getting indication that voicemail activity has been received but no calls and no messages.

After searching the forum, it seems that a factory reset is the only way to get rid of the icon.
