WAV Files Not Playing Correctly

My work phone system emails my my voicemails in a WAV format. They played without issue prior to Gingerbread. However now with the Gingerbread update the file can be downloaded but when played it only plays about a second of the message and loops it until I stop it. This occrus in the defaul Corporate Sync mail program and in Touchdown.
I have tried several different music apps and have not had any luck. Also, I am on my 10th wipe and third X since Gingerbread so I know wiping it and/or swapping phones is not the solution.
Any other hints or am I up a creek?
P.S. My CEO has a X and is having the same issue...this could be major bonus points if I can fix my phone and then his.
***Forgive me if this is addressed elsewhere; I searched the forums but did not find a solution.***
