Weird homescreen memory issues

My Droid Charge seems to keep forgetting what is supposed to be on some of the home screens. Also, it has decided not to sync email and such even though I told it to.

Just now I rebooted my phone, and the homescreen that used to be the AP feed, and had disappeared, is now back... but only two icons wide, and in the middle of what the app should be displaying.

Anyone else having this problem?

Dear thejetzer,

You may want to consider a hard reset of the phone, but this will wipe all your settings and customizations.  Let us know if that's what you want to do, and I'll post instructions.

I haven't seen this particular issue, but have seen other similar issues (Icons disappearing, getting really laggy going between screens, etc). A couple of things to try before doing a factory reset are 1.) Power down and pull the battery for a minute or so. and 2.) Get a program like Android Assistant from the Market and use the Cache Cleaner function.

Alternate launchers like Go Launcher or Launcher Pro may also alleviate the home screen issues.

On the Sync issues, make sure that Settings->Accounts and Sync has Background Data and AutoSunc checked as well as being enabled for any accounts showing up in the Manage Accounts section of Accounts and Sync.
