I updated to the 2.2 update the day it was available. One issue I am seeing is when attempting to push a video from the phone to youtube I am getting the error, "You can not upload a video larger than 1 GB." The video is only 1 min 49 seconds and is only 132.5MB. I am not sure what's going on there.. I was able to copy the file to my computer when I got home and then upload it but it would have been nice to be able to just push it out from my phone. Any one else having this issue? Any suggestions on a way to fix it?
Thanks,
JPS

Hello! This is Noah with Verizon Wireless, I hope you are having a great day. I would be happy to address your post today.
First lets make sure the video is in the correct format. The Android OS 2.2 software will only support the PCM WAV format. The following WAV formats are not supported:
uLaw
aLaw
Next could I get you check for updates on the device.
From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch About Phone
Touch System Updates
Then could I get try recording a smaller video in lower quality and then try pushing it to Youtube. Please make sure that you check the video settings in the Youtube Menu.

Hi Noah,
Thanks for your Reply. I have checked the updates (even though I just got the 2.2 update that was just released). And it lets me know that there are no updates.
To clarify I am taking Video on my Droid X (Updated to 2.2 update just released) and I am not using any other program to take the video other than what came on the Droid X. The problem I have is its a 132.5 MB video and when attempting to use the "Share" feature of the phone to UPLOAD the video to my youtube account it gives me the error that it can not upload a video larger than 1 GB. While I under stand the formats supported by the Droid X with 2.2, I just wanted to make it clear that the Droid X is the one taking the video and there is no way that I know of to change the video recording format on the phone.
Thanks,
JPS

I have the same problem here. Before the update I uploaded a 180MB video shot in 720p on the droid x. Now after the update I tried to upload a 233MB video also shot on the phone and I get this failure. I have done considerable searching on the internet and see other people have had this issue with the X before with 2.1 but I haven't run into the problem until now. Of course I am connected via wifi during the upload attempt and smaller vids work. I haven't determined exactly where the cuttoff is. Taking the file to the PC and uploading direct to youtube works fine. Appears to be either a issue with the file system not talking to the mobil youtube app properly or something like that. When you click the video in the media gallery you can do a Info on it and the phone reports the size correctly there.

yea..before the update I had uploaded one video to youtube. It was 211MB and did just fine. Im guessing that it has a small bug where its reporting the wrong size to applications. It reports the correct size for me as well in the gallery. Thanks for adding to this post/issue!

Lets try these steps to see if we can work around this issue.
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
Touch Settings.
Touch Applications.
Touch Manage applications.
Touch the Youtube application.
Touch Clear Cache
Touch OK.
Touch OK.
Then could I get you to do a soft reset on the phone, by powering the phone off removing the battery, then replacing the battery, then powering the phone back on, then dialing *228 send and option 2 to update the PRL.
After that could I get you to try sharing a video below 100 megabytes, and one above 100 megabytes.

Just getting back to this...
I did try deleting the cache as well as the application data, soft boot, *228 #2, and my results are a 76mb file started to upload fine (canceled it because it was obviously going through) and a new 136MB video shot from the droid x camera fails with the error message. Again, this was connected through my wifi.

By the way, both files (one that worked and one that fails) were 720P resolution. Only difference was file size / length of video.

Also I need to correct my previous post... I rechecked my youtube account and the files I previously uploaded that were successful under 2.1 os were all under 100mb so this issue was under that os as well and not just with the update. I can tell which ones were directly uploaded from the phone because it adds the tag "This video was uploaded from an Android phone" when it uploads. :^)
