Weird screen issue.

Often after waking my screen, I can't drag the unlock key. I'll touch it, and it'll have the haptic feedback, but it's like the bar doesn't move. I have to shut off the screen, then retry and it normally works. Sometimes, though, it'll let me slide the bar, but when I go to draw my pattern, its like some of the dots wont register. In this case, I have to shut the screen off and retry.

Its become so aggravating. I mean, it's not that big of a deal, but I just get sickcof having to do this all of the time.

And, another thing-
Whenever I press hard on my screen, a spot comes up in the middle of the screen. It's only in the middle and it looks like water. I was in Alltel with a family member yesterday morning and I showed her and she said it looked like condensation. I haven't wet my phone, and it's never been exposed to extreme humidity. She checked the water indicator for the phone and it was fine.

I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions? Thank you!

By her, I meant the Alltel representative. Sorry.

Have you tried taking out your battery for a few seconds and then replacing it? As for the dot on your screen when you press hard, that's a normal reaction from the glass and has nothing to do with the screen itself.

As far as your screen goes, you should know that the touch screen on the droid doesn't require you really press on it to register a touch.  There is an electrical current on the screen and by just touching it you cause a disruption in the electrical field that the phone can pick up on and detect your touch.  If you are pressing your screen so hard that you see that "water" effect - you are pressing way too hard.  You really should only need to rest your finger on the screen for it to work.

So as far as your screen issue goes, does this usually happen when the phone is plugged into a wall charger or USB cable, or does it happen regardless?  If your phone is getting a charge that is slightly off, it can make the touch screen do all kinds of weird things while it's charging.

Along the lines of how the touch screen works, if your hands are dirty or wet or greasy then the phone will have a hard time "seeing" your touch.  Same thing happens if you are in a really humid environment, I've also heard of people having issues with their hands being too dry.  A dirty screen or the wrong screen protector can also affect how well the screen resonds.
