for one i am a long time verizon customer of over 6 years so no one say im an anti-verizon person.
so to begin, i had a dare it was amazing it was my first smart phone, greatest phone ever.
it broke they (asurion) gave me an enV touch as a replacement (junk) so i got the eris... had it for 2 weeks wasnt loud enough so i upgraded to the droid by motorola, great phone by the way when it works. but on here i have read about some issues i have been having and come to realize customer service has been saying those problems are "user error." SO, I have re-set my phone more then 3 times because when it is to my ear and i am speaking the phone turns black, normal, but it starts hitting buttons that end up in my phone being muted... also all my messages have been getting erased magically while the phone has the screen lock on and is in my pocket, thank god i bought "Wave Secure" and everything is restored promptly. now i have one thing to as, is this just me, or are other people having the same problem(s)?

Is it a error with the proximity sensor that turns the screen off when it gets near your face? On my friends Droid I had to re-flash the firmware to fix it (complicated), so your best bet is to see about a replacement. When he put his phone to his ear the screen would turn off properly, but then would promptly turn it self back on, this caused his cheek hit the end button and hang up on people. Verizon told us he was holding it wrong...hahaha...he wasn't. We tested by holding a finger over the sensor near the speaker and it showed us that this was the problem. If I didn't have the Motorola developers console and a clean copy of the firmware (thank you internet) then we would have had to give up. I think if you do the same test, by placing your finger over the sensor and can see the screen cycle off and back on, in front of a Verizon rep in store, they would get you a refurbished replacement.
Cheers
