Mine does not. I have tried to recreate it as shown in the videos. Testing reception using both the bar meter and RealSignal app. I actually went around my entire case and I could not get it to drop.

Apparently, the kid ain't too bright. I think people are running with it, but there is no evidence that it is a design issue.
his own comment:
"actually i just found out my phone has a defect cause i got pisted and accidently squezzed the hell out of it and now i have to get a replacement."

Okay, I'll play along....
Yes, when I got in my truck with the new Droid X, I sat in the parking lot and observed a full signal on the phone.
I then tried evry way I could imagine to hold the phone, in each hand, both hands, everywhere I could grab the thing.
I NEVER saw a variation in the signal strength. Never, I say.
Steve Jobs, you and Apple screwed up and you know it.. Enjoy your fanbase while you can and stop dragging everyone else into your quagmire.

If the "grip of death" was real on the Droid X there would be more complaints. Probably even news articles saying that Droid X has a grip issue. You don't see that though. Only for iPhone you do. I do agree that Stevie did mess up. You know what? He won't even admit he screwed up or confess he made a mistake. Shows what kind of a person he is,huh?

Not seen any problem here. I had it in Church got my emails, called on the road using my headphone still good. I got the holster with cover and no problems with reception. You damage any device and guess what it will not work right.
