Samsung just released the source code (we think it's Gingerbread) for the Samsung charge phone. It is named version EP4D. Folks here have said that Version EP4P is Gingerbread 2.3.5.
Does anyone know what version is EP4D? Is it Gingerbread 2.3.4, 2.3.5, or 2.3.6 or something else?

As a note:
Bloatware is stil lthere, even tho some no longer default launch like before, or at least till you first run them and use them.
Facebook removed by default, and we know why so you just need to install the full app.
New support for Google Music, however you need to give it time to synch if you have alot of music on your cloud server.
Front cam has a default swapper button for other apps. Skype updated their app already to work with the front cam.
THere are other google support apk's hidden so looks like a Google Video feature like Google music is on the way.
You can't judge by file size. Leaks are full overwrites. OTA's and SD downloaded are not. THe update is not going to contain default apps like the leaks which are SHIPPED builds to install onto new phones.
THe update is goign to overwrite the kernal, the main os, and radio's. The apps already present will not be changed (data will be backed up to the IMS then restored). So there is no need for a large file size.
If you take the ep4d and remove app data defaults. It is around 108mb.

On another more technically oriented forum one of the folks downloaded it (126.37 MB) and found that EP4D is probably Version 2.3.5 (see attachment). Also others said that some of the files are missing...who knows, not me!

EP4P is definitely 2.3.6. The newest leak that leaked earlier this month. The one verizon is going to OTA is probably 2.3.5 which would make it older than the one that was leaked earlier this month.

If you look on the Samsung Open Source site, for EE4, it is listed as "EE4B", and for EP4 it says "EP4D"... on my phone it just says "EE4" not "EE4B" so, hopefully this "EP4D" is really "EP4" or "EP4P" which is the leak that your running and hopefully it is 2.3.6 Also, on a few different sites, they have said that the update is 114MB and 119MB....so I'm wondering which one is correct.

It should pop up on your phone within the next 7 days or so, but, you should be able to manually pull it even sooner, possibly within the next 3-4 days if you try manually.

Yeah, I agree it doesn't make sense to release an older version. I think EP4D made it to verizon awhile back and they tested it for a good long while and they decided they are FINALLY are going to release it. During this whole time of them taking their sweet time testing it, along came a newer version of EP4P which was released to testers. The leaks are always going to be newer than the ones actually released to verizon because they don't take forever to test them before they leak them.
