All this hype about IPhone coming to Verizon well I dont know what is special with the phone. It was big deal before we had the Android phones and ATT&T come out with IPhone well it was the best out there but the Iphone with VZW wont work the same as AT&T. With ATT&T you can talk on phone and surf the web on their IPhone but not on Verizons network with CDMA so what really is different between IPhone and my Fascinate? Anyone have answer for us?

Well, the main difference is the platform. Different operating system (though both are linux/unix-based), different app market, different (walled-garden) app philosophy. Hardware wise, they both do essentially the same thing. Text, email and web, play youtube videos and make phone calls.
But the "important" difference is that THIS is the blessed Pope Steve Jobs sanctified genuine Uber-fashion statement gotta-haveit-coz-everybodyz-gottit Jesus Phone now given to the Gentiles. So THAT makes all the difference in the world.
Me, I just got a free Droid Incredible from Best Buy and am happy as a clam in a pot of chowder.

I dolove your explanation of the differences.

your fascinate doesn't have a front facing camera to video call people with. your fascinate also doesn't have a "cult like" following of fans (we call apple fanboys). i'll take your fascinate over the iphone any day and twice on sunday.

and i guess i never really knew that much about the iphone? i always heard these arguments:
battery on iphone is way better-no need for replaceable battery
OS is WAY more stable-no need for battery pulls or resets
way more apps
and as you mentioned...."it just works"
well i've spent A LOT of time the past two weeks on the iphone forum and guess what? they have the exact same topics as the android forum. i'm already finding "do a reset" as a common suggestion to issues. i'm also noticing a lot of complaints that every other app costs $. a NUMBER of complaints about no swype. and even battery complaints (although i do still think it's got a better battery than any android). i wanted to check out what all the hype was about and pretty much found what i expected. it is a nice and VERY limitied smartphone, compared to androids. if you're into the apple logo and itunes is your thing, then it's a nice addition to verizon. however, since it's launch many of us have been doing speed tests and the network is definitely slower in the areas that i've seen tests (including mine!!!). from going through the posts, it appears that many of the iphone buyers are first time smart phone users and don't completely understand that when they leave an app that requires data running, the data continues to transfer. one guy went through 4 gb's of data in his first full day and said "i haven't been using it much." it appears that many of them aren't aware that they even have apps that require data (browsers, streaming, etc) running.
i'm sure it's a great phone, but it obviously has the same bugs, freezes, etc, issues as an other phone. the only difference is that steve jobs tells you what you can or can't have.
