OK, I just downloaded a theme for my Droid X... Where'd it go, and how do I activate it?
try the downloads folder on your SD card. You can navigate there with the "Files" app
What are you calling a theme? Droid X will not download themes like Windows will. It will download wallpaper, which you can find by clicking on the menu button and then on wallpaper.
