I have a Storm right now and and Otter Box case for it. The phone looks brand new after almost a year and a half which has never happened to me before. I work in construction and my line of work just destroys most phones in less than two years. My storm looks brand new still and I have had it for almost a year and a half, this phone may last me longer than any other that I've had except for the fact that is the most problem prone piece of electronics I've ever had, so I'm considering a driod X. Otter Box does not make a case for it, at least not yet. Does anyone know of a case that's as good as an Otter Box case for the droid X or any of the other Droid touchsscreen only phones?
I like the silicon sleeve which comes in two parts. One part slides over the back of the phone and the other has the belt clip. It's very solid and beats a soft case any day. However, one down side, they do tend to be a pain if you have to open up the battery case for any reason. Hard to take off.
By the way, I bought a less expensive, regular case, at a kiosk in one of the malls in the area. The magnet in the case really messed around with my Droid. Every time I took the phone out of the case, it opened up the car docking apps. So, if you do buy a third party case and weird things start to happen to the phone, it probably will be the magnet in the case. I was told that there are sleeves/cases made specifically for the Droid X.
Check out the Seidio Innocase Rugged holster. A little on the pricey side at 50 bucks but well worth it. I like the feel better than the otter box and its tuff.
I am in construction also and I cant count the number of drops and slide's off the center console onto the floor Ive had with no damage. I highly recommend this case for our line of work.
That case kinda reminds me of the otterbox I have for the Storm I have. Did you get yours online? If so is $50.00 the best you can do for this case?
