Getting ready to upgrade in December (Currently have original Droid) and was just wondering is someone could give me the Cliff Notes version of why they chose Bionic over iPhone (Other than 3G vs 4G).
I don't want to over think it but also want to make the best decission.
Thanks

Its really a preference thing, I am not a iPhone fan because the device is to limited to me when you look at customizing and mods,
1. Any changes you want to make to a android you do not have to hook up to a pc
2. The option to save data from sites directly to the device without haveing to download to pc and copu to device...
3. You can not add any ringers without converting first
4. You can not create custom notifications alerts
5. 4G over 3G is still a factor
6. Volume is to low and no options to app any apps to increase volume
7. Battery dont last long and no option to be able to carry spare battery or replace with higher size.
Theres more reasons I would do a iphone but this is a simple list...

i was hard-pressed walking n local verizon store 2 get an iphone. i walked out w the bionic because of the 4g speed & the feature rich potential. maybe things will change when the iphone 5 comes out if you wanna wait.
1 true thing i'll say about the bionic is the battery life sux. i charge about 2x's a day + i keep my car & home chargers in plain view.

i wish i hadn't switched from my iphone to the bionic.
iphone 3g
pros-
reliable
great screen
call quality
very accurate touch screen
cons-
no flash!!!
felt slower
itunes is inconvenient
no sd card
bionic
pros-
very fast processor
big screen
cons-
camera is slow
feels cheap to me
touch screen is not very precise
service is sporadic at best.... hopefully the update in november fixes it.
these are just my opinions tho. i would suggest playing with both phones and not being impulsive like i was.

I had an AT&T iPhone 3GS for two years and never had to buy an app. Switched to Bionic on Verizon and so far I am not so happy with it. The phone voice quality is poor. the droid interface is not intuitive. App/screen settings and configurations are not consistent. I can't figure out how to get any pictures from my PC onto my phone. All droid music players suck. Anyone who bashes an iPhone has obviously never owned one. They simply work. As for cell coverage, I live out in the country in Ohio and my AT&T coverage seemed just as good as Verizon. Wish I had never changed.

As with any phone these days, it comes down to personal preference.
I have had my Bionic for about a month and I absolutely love it. I did consider the iPhone 4, but ultimately decided on the Bionic for the following reasons:
- Dualcore processor and memory (Makes the interface very responsive)
- 4G LTE service (Once you have tried it, it's tough to go back to 3G)
- Navigation by Google (By far the best navigation available on any phone - and its free)
- Battery (It is huge for me that I can quickly pop out a depleted battery and pop in a recharged one)
I use the extended battery and I have had it last anywhere between 12 and 30 hours between charges. I carry the spare extended battery while traveling and I never worry about my phone dying when I can't charge it.
I do travel a fair amount which is why I love the Navigation app. It has not let me down - yet.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the service coverage and the virtual keyboard works well for me and my not-so-fleet fingers
