Why can't I see voicemail notifications?

I receive no notification that i received a voicemail. When I bring up voicemail it always says 0 voicemail, but when i dial out there are voicemails. How do I get this phone to show that I have a voicemail? I have a Motorola Ultra .

Dialed the Voice Mail system.
When the system answered, enterered my passcode.
At the Main Menu, pressed 4 for Personal Options.Turned Voicemail Notification on by pressing 1.

I know it's important to check those voicemails dmvtech! I'm sorry for any difficulties you are experiencing. Turning the notification setting on in the voicemail system is a good step. Are you getting notifications now? Do you receive other notifications on your device, such as messages, emails or social media alerts? Have you tried power cycling your device?
