Why do Verizon employee's respond to glitch questions but they all avoid update questions?

I got my droid the day it was released, I love it! Its the greatest phone I've ever had and think my friends with Idont phones should switch over. But why is it that the responses from Verizon staff only refer to question about bugs or how do do something. No one from Verizon will comment about what the procedures are for release of Froyo. I got my droid 8 months prior to a friend and he already received the OTA update while I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs. I promote Verizon for the quality phones and service they have, but I'm starting to rethink that. ARRRG!

Just because they didn't respond to you online, your loyalty is in jeopardy? Have you tried calling them? Or actually confronting them first about it instead of voicing your complaints online, where it's not even guaranteed any Verizon employee sees it?
In regards to your first question though, perhaps they were told to keep their mouths shut about the update.

What I meant by them possibly not seeing it, is that they might not have seen THIS particular post. Or they could have avoided it all together and not even opened it simply because the title sounded like a complaint to them.

But what happened to customer satisfaction? I knew something was fishy when they first announced the OTA for the Droid. I was thinking they are gonna do this and the Droid 2 is coming out??? Then to cancel it and push it back to Aug. 12th, the same day the Droid 2 is to be released, made no sense to me. I am still in my 30 days to return my Droid. I don't want to because I really like the phone, but a few days after it arrives they announce the EOL on it. I was gonna return it then but they said it was getting 2.2, so I said I'll wait. But if I don't have it by Tuesday, the Droid goes back.

Returning it and going with the Droid 2 is probably your best option {edit for TOS violation} Granted you'll get stuck with a restocking fee and paying the $50 extra for the Droid 2 but it's probably worth it in the long run.

One verizon employee did respond to an update quesiton. Natashia said HERE that " The 2.2 update is being released to all customers. The roll out began on August 3 and will end on Aug 18th. They are randomly being sent so you should receive yours momentarily."
Guess you can't say never now!
