Why does it take 10-60 seconds to populate the "create a" Shortcut > Applications Menu

Whenever I longpress the homescreen click create shortcut > application the Droid X seems to hang.  It can take about 60 seconds or more to bring up this application menu.  I tried this same procedure on the droid incredible expecting a 3-4 second delay, but populating that same menu was instantaneous.

This has to be some sort of bug?  I've had two Droid X's and both of them had this same issue.  Is this something that Motorola or Verizon is aware of? Is there a fix planned?

do you have 2.2 installed?

I just tried it on my X and it took about 3 seconds to bring the shortcut menu up, and then pressing applications it took about 20 seconds, but I have a LOT of applications installed. I do have 2.2 installed, and my X does run faster with 2.2 on it than it did with 2.1.

The difference in time is the difference in HTC Sense UI and Motorola Motoblur lite. The Sense UI must have the Application list preloaded in memory at all times (which would take away from available memory to run the phone) and the Motoblur is loading when it is brought up.

I don't think that it is a bug.

It must be your phone. It takes mine about 2 seconds to pop up.
