WiFi Issues After 2.2 Update

I updated my phone two days ago.  Now, I notice that the phone is constantly updating the WiFi connection; i.e., "Obtaining IP address from XXXX".  Network connections through apps like Facebook, Android Market, etc. are spotty.  I'm constantly getting "Connection detected" at the top of the screen.  I'd like to go back to the old version until they fix this CF.  These things never happened before the update.

Motorola admitted to this wifi/router issue involving the netgear router model wndr 3700 ,I fixed mine no more of that constant  loop of connecting and disconnecting from my WiFi's.

You didn't mention your router model I don't know if it affected any other models

I recieved a warranty replacement phone (dead pixels on last one)activated it 2days ago and has seemed fine. last night i upgraded it to 2.2 and now wifi is going bonkers. turns on and off every 10-30 seconds. i powered the phone off and removed battery to see if that will help.the phone now freezes on start up takes 2+ trys to get it going. also noticed that browser and some other apps take longer to start?

I can not be 100% sure the 2.2 update caused this or it was that replacement phone because of the length of time I have had with it. no issues like that on my last phone and 2.1 though.

any thoughts?

Hello hugebob. I have read your post and understand your issue with your WiFi connection. I would recommend to doing a hard reset on your device.

From the home screen, touch the applications tab(located at the bottom of the display).
Touch Settings.
Touch Privacy.
Touch Factory Data Reset.
Touch Reset Phone.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
Touch Erase Everything.
