WiFi shuts down the 3G/4G Data Connection on the Charge

I saw a post (can't find it now) where someone was having a problem getting and/or keeping a data connection (3G/4G). In the post the person who posted the question included a picture of his or her notification screen and I noticed that Wi-Fi, GPS, ad Mobile Data were ALL turned on. On my Charge if Wi-Fi is turned on it will automatically turn OFF the DATA 3G/4G connection. It seems to have priority so therefore I lose my data connection.
I would suggest if you are having a problem regarding 3G/4G data connections that you disable Wi-Fi.
I can test this quite easily because in my house I have both pretty good 3G/4G data connection directly from a VZ cell tower and I also have a VZ Pantech UM290 modem connected to a Cradlepoint MBR1000 router that I use in my motorhome..
Because of this I can use the Charge's Data Notification screen to quickly switch between Wi-Fi and Mobile Data. When Mobile Data is active and I have a good 4G signal I can activate the Wi-Fi and within seconds I see the 4G data signal disappear. If I deactivate the Wi-Fi the 4G data signal comes back.
If you try this do activate the Wi-Fi so you can turn it on and off using the Data Notification screen.

That's by design. If you're using wifi, having 3G/4G working at the same time would be a little redundant.

I wonder if a person moving around in a car or if various Wi-Fi networks in their local neighborhood kept turning on and off and their Charge was set to notify when a Wi-Fi becomes available wouldn't that make the data signal drop in mid stream? If so some users may not know why the signal had "done gone and went." I do and you do but I was passing this on to someone who may be having a problem.

It shouldn't matter since it won't connect to those networks unless you have them remembered. 3G/4G should work fine with the wifi radio turned on and no connected network but once you come into range of a remembered network or connect manually, the 3G/4G should drop out since the extra data connection isn't needed.

Great, that's good to know that unless it is set to find WiFi connections that come into range it will not interrupt the data connection except for a pre-saved WiFi connection...Thanks
