We just got this phone and it won't connect to WiFi! No one seems to be able to help...the answer given is ...a factory reset must be done, which will cause my Son to lose everything he's downloaded and all his photo's too..

Can he take it to a Verizon store and have them back up his stuff (so he won't lose anything)  and then do a factory reset. This is frustrating...WiFi should work without having to do all this...

Outside of any other troubleshooting that may have been done, a factory reset is normally a last resort effort to fix the Wi-Fi problem. Backing his stuff up isn't as difficult as you may think. So much so that you or he could do it yourself without having to visit a store. Assuming that he has a smartphone he could use the Verizon Cloud app to back up his stuff (have him search for it in whatever app store his phone has). Once he's gone through setting that app up you would be free to do the master reset and then he would just re-download that same app to restore his stuff.
