I am wondering are you speaking on DVD Catalyst? If this is what you are speaking of the droid X should read files without issues, this usually isnt the file causing the issue try restarting device because there has been issues with the Droid x having this issue and restarting the device usually fix.
Another thing if you want to direct a question to a curtain user it will be easier to send a PM by clicking users name on a post above avatar image and then click "Send this user a private message" on right area of page (Above add as freind), if you need any more assistance feel free to ask.

I also use DVD Catalyst ... They had it on sale 50% off -- $9.95 online.. It is really nice and works perfectly. You simply insert your DVD in your Computer/laptop and it will convert an entire movie to an .MP4 file for you to copy to your SD card on the phone.

I am assuming something here as things seemed to be a bit unclear.
Hulk0069, if you downloaded DVD Catalyst 4 to your Droid X, that may be your problem. DVD Catalyst 4 is downloaded and installed on a computer (not the Droid X). You do the conversion on the computer and then the result is transferred to the Droid X.

i had the same problem, i just downloaded a player for my droid x called Rock Player Universal??? it seems to be working, it asks you to buy it every time you load a movie but you just say trial and it will let you use it full featured with ads in the menus with no time limit.

As runnman said - DVD Catalyst is a DVD Conversion program that runs on your computer, not the phone. You copy the converted .MP4 file to your phone and use a Video player to play it .. I use the stock video player app on my DROID X and it works great. No need to buy another APP.

Good point, I was concidering that he was speaking on the video not being supported never thought that they could be talking about the application,,,, Runnman is correct id this is the case, install on desktop not Drois X..
If you decide to try a player:
Meridian Media Player is better and there is a free version and a full version, Meridian is only 2.99 compared to the 9.99 for Rock Player if you decide in thr full version..
