Hi everyone,
Is there a problem with the stock email app and hotmail??
When i try to setup my hotmail acct. throu the 'Windows Live Hotmail' option,
after entering my username and password comes up with a 'server not reponding' message.
I was not having this problem with Froyo.
Thank You.

Hi,
When I setup the email acct. using the 'Windows Live Hotmail' option i doesn't give a chance to
chage the settings, it only asks me for the username and password. I guess i puts the settings automatically.
If i try to set it up using 'Other POP3' then I can input settings manually.
But now it won't let me delete the Live acct. saying that is in use by another app, that I need to do a factory reset.
I think that the stock email app is not working properly.

Proper way to setup Hotmail on Android is via ActiveSync (like Exchange)
this did not work well for me with Froyo but is working fine with GB.

That's good for you.
ActiveSync is the preferred connection method according to MS. Same way that the mail client talks to an Exchange server. I'm sure there are functional differences between POP and AS, but I don't know what they are. AS support for Hotmail is fairly new. You may want to try it. You might like it.
