Wonky flash, dead camera and a Verizon Droid miracle

So, I poster earlier today about the flash on my Droid going insane. Basically, the flash suddenly decided it was more fun to randomly flash whenever it pleased. I went through the motions of calling tech support, where we danced around the standard operating procedures: cycling power, removing/replacing battery, disabling flash, enabling flash, and finally removing the FxCamera app.
Nada. Still flashed at random.
Support finally suggested a switchout, since I had my receipt and a legitimate issue.
And let me tell you about that issue. The flash eventually dwindled to an occasional flutter. I tried the camera, getting a weak flash response for each picture. Before I took off to the V store, I tried the camera again. The flash had stopped, so I was going test a photo. Lo and behold, not only did it not flash, but I couldn't even get to the cam app. I mean nothing. Screen went blank, phone hung on the app. No response for a couple of minutes, finally resulting in an error message indicating the app had stopped responding, with a choice of stopping the app or waiting. So I stopped it. Cycled the phone, tried it again.
You get the drift.
Obviously, I go in to do the switch. I made it clear I only needed the phones switched and that I would do that activation. Last Friday the store rep managed to erase every one of my contacts, so I'm not chancing it. They're happy with less work, do the transaction, nice as can be. I hit the factory reset, which asked me three times if I was sure, and switch the phones.
I go off to the side to test the phone (natch) and run it through the paces before leaving. It activates, I enter both my Google and Facebook accounts, and the phone proceeds to sync those contacts. That's all I really cared about.
So what happens. Every single contact from before, along with every app I downloaded, synced back to the phone. 27 applications were restored according to the phone. Plus every single setting, including the background. Now a couple of things didn't fix, like the icons on the home screens and the ringers, but otherwise it's cloned.
I'm floored by the whole thing. I had no clue the phone had that kind of capability. From void to Droid in sixty seconds.
Bravo, Verizon, Google and MOTO. Job well done.
Just fix the camera app, will you? My new cam needs some exercise.

Yup. Welcome to Android. What's remarkable about the Droid being a Google experience phone is that because you are using your Gmail, all your contacts/calendar information, everything is saved to it. Your market downloads, all of it is saved. I wish you would have visited these forums before, you would have known this earlier.
I apologize about the camera issues, as I can definitly see the frustration in that, but it seems to be Ubiquitous from the CameraFX app.
Either way, I'm glad that you're slightly happy.

Slightly? I'm ecstatic. I knew I'd benefit from finally getting an Android handset from the V, but I knew so little about Android's core talents.
I'm sold. So totally sold that I've already gotten three people to buy Droids. I should be getting commissions.

Wonderful news! The Android platform has so much potential, it's ridiculous. If you need a refrence, I created a thread up top that has information and answers that you may have as an Android user.
I hope you enjoy your phone, and if you have any trouble, need help or assistance, you can come over here and we'll treat you well

I'm coming from two years with Windows Mobile and a year with iPhone. I absolutely love my Droid!
It's a great balance between WinMo's highly customizable and functional nature with the iPhone's simplicity. And that display! Man, having 850x480 pixels at your fingertips is crazy!
