I am so frustrated with this phone. I am a tech savy person but alas this phone is a piece of junk. I hate the number of screens you have to into just to send a text. The keyboard is worthless and most of the time comes up with something totally different than what I was typing. The phone - can't tell half time who called - press slight brush a name to get details and it calls out, screen dims and then have to go into several screens just to end the calls. Hard to read the screen in the sunlight. So, is there anyone out there who really likes this piece of crap?

Thank you to the community members for your input. Some of the concerns you expressed can be addressed by reviewing the manual for your device. You are able to get helpful hints and tips about using the phone. For example, you could move the "Message Icon" to your home screen. This would allow you the ability to navigate to messaging in 1 step. Please click here to view the online support for the Incredible.

Yep, I never have had any problems like you described. Actually many feel it still is the best Android out there.
One button to get to text program, no additional screens,
I type just fine (Did you calibrate the screen prior to using?)
Screen shows up with the name and pic of who is calling,
I use an app that keeps from pocket dianling
When a call ends, it ends automatically, or when you pull the phone from your ear the screen lights up to hot end
Hard to read in sunlight I agree Which phone isn't?

love it! i now have a new phone, but i still use my incredible via wifi at home and in the hot tub (don't want to drop the new phone....lol). if you don't care for the stock messaging app, then you may want to try handcent or one of the other texting apps. if you're touching the contacts from the phone's dialer, then yes....it will call them. you need to open "people" if you want to view details of the contacts. there are also other keyboards you can download if you want to try those instead of the stock keyboard. when i pull mine away from my ear, the screen comes back on to the dialer, with the "end call" button. if you're tech savy, then you can set this phone up to nearly perfectly match how and what you want. short cuts to direct dials, widgets, bookmarks, etc, etc. i thought it was a near perfect phone when it was launched a year ago.

I had a lot of questions after I purchased my Droid Inc. I took one issue at a time and went back to VZ Wireless store and they were, pardon the pun, incredible. They worked with me until I had all the bugs worked out. Most of the difficulties were operator trouble. My wireless store is the best I have ever see when it comes to customer service. Considering all the features this model has, I'd have to say it beats anything the competition has. iPhone 3 just doesn't compare.
I am a retired CO technician with over 38 years of service and we're still the best phone company in the world!
