I was looking at the Droid X and the R2D2 and the sales clerk noted that the R2D2 had a faster processor, but smaller screen and weaker camera, where as the X had a slightly slower processor but larger TOUCH screen and three more megapixels in its camera. Both had 'hotspot' options. For a private consumer who just wants mainly to surf the web, call, text, and use the 'hotspot' option for a laptop. Do I really need the faster processor from the R2D2? Thank you!

I have both the Droid X and the Droid 2 R2D2. Truthfully, I notice no difference in speed, or camera taking ability, or anything else for that matter. Both my Droids are great phones. There are some minor differences, such as the positioning of the power button, the size of the screens, and the positioning of the USB connector. I use my bigger screen (Droid X) when I want to view some videos. I use the smaller Droid (R2D2) when I go traveling since the smaller size makes it more convenient to carry. Which one would I advise. Well, if you want to view videos, go with the X. If you want a convenient phone to slip into your pocket, go with the R2D2. As I said, both are really great phones, and truthfully, I notice no significant differences in usage between the two.

I like the physical keyboard on the D2 Global.
