Yahoo emails

When I delete emails from Yahoo on my laptop, does it also delete them on my Droid Yahoo?

Or are they a seperate issue

The DROID's email is just a "syncing" of email. If you delete it in your Yahoo account on your laptop, it's gone also from your phone.  However, if you delete emails on your phone, they end up in the TRASH folder in YAHOO.  You need to EMPTY your TRASH folder online from time to time or they just accumulate.  At least this is what I;m seeing in my YAHOO account.

It's the POP vs. IMAP settings issue. POP accounts are remote accounts that have fewer functions. If you set up your Yahoo account on your phone as an IMAP account, you should be able to delete emails from your phone.
