I downloaded my Outlook contacts to Backup Assistant, then to my phone. However, it did not transfer all the information, particularly street addresses. is there a way to do this?

I spoke to a Verizon tech because though I have 300 + contacts in my Droid X, the back up assistant would only back up 40 - 50 or so. She told me that the back up assistant only backs up phone contacts, not contacts that are pulled from gmail or facebook etc, which renders the back up assistant essentially useless on Android OS phones.....in my personal opinion.

BA is nothing but a useless peice of software... Stay way from it and use Google onlly... It works better.

again, you're putting out bogus info about ba which is quite a bit different than my experience with ba and the dx.
i used ba to get my old contacts/100+ on the dx before i exported contacts from outlook express/imported into gmail.
gmail had to be setup in the dx activate process or i wouldn't have used it and haven't used it for email since i got the dx last december.

You need to research more before you say someone is giving out bad information, the large number of users from several forums and multiple devices reporting issues with BA, Verizon tech department has acknowledged issues with BA and most smart devices. Before you second guess any information research a bit more because I am sure you will find the same information I am reporting now..

If it works for you, you are one of the lucky ones because a number of users have lost contacts information by using BA, I can say I havent experianced this issue with using Google to backup my information vut I am also smart enough to use a 3rd party backup app to cover me incase all else falls.
I try to help users with information and situation I have noticed others have had as well as situations that I have went through, I usely test a app for some while before I give up and call it a provlem item, if you have a issue with the information I give you will get over it because I was repling to the OP....

This is the way I first transferred my contacts from BA to Google. The instructions are for feature phones, but once you get to the Backup Assistant part, it would be the same for all phones.

I also have successfully used ba several times on my x granted all I have is numbers and names to transfer I have my gmail linked to my phone but it doesn't do anything what end (phone or gmail) do I set up backups for google ? Every time I have reset I look around and never see a way to simply import contacts through google and I just go to ba and it always works there should be an app for google restore or backups built in rather than flippin blockbuster

The trick after the contacts are synced from Google is to select your new contact type as Google whenever you create a new contact. For a secondary backup of the Google contacts, I use Lookout and manually exporting the contacts to the sd card.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

as you said, "you haven't experienced the problem with ba"
re-read my words:
"a bit different than my experience with ba and the dx." and the rest of my post.
