If you recieved a replacement device you wouldnt have got a battery with the device so you do not need to go through recharging the battery with that process because the new device wouldnt effect the battery charge.. If the battery is fully charged when you removed from old device to place into the new device, you wouldbt beed to still charge the battery again.
When I got my new phone back in September, it arrived with ab n 80% charge as well ... I left to charge for about 3 hours total even though it went to 100% in like 1/2 hour .... then plugged it in over night, just to do that. But I don't think it was necessary - have had ZERO problems with this phone and love it.
