bionic lost service
frankledbetter

Just purchased the Bionic, and I am **bleep** off......The phone keeps dropping service for 4G, then internet, then no service to make calls. You have to start the phone again and it takes forever. Verizon and Motorola, somebody over there better figure out this problem before I go public, the news here is really wanting this story bad. FIX IT NOW!!!! WE ALL PAY TOO MUCH TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS FROM NEW DEVICES!!

Frankledbetter, thank you for posting. I understand your concern over this issue with losing data signal. Our product team is currently working with Motorola on software fix to address this issue. We do not have a date for the resolution, but we are working as diligently as possible. I also want to remind you that since you mentioned you just purchased the Bionic, you have a 14 day worry free guarantee. It sounds like you are quite upset about this issue, and if you want to return or exchange the device and still within the 14 days, you have that option.

I am with you Verizon Released a phone I have to continually toggle between airplane mode and back to get a 4g Signal.

Just wait to your apps disappear from the media area Verizon truly screwed the pooch on this phone

This will be my last contract with Verizon lack of updates incomptent Tier 2 Techs and no help from Motorola either this last bionic was truly disapointing and lack of help does nothing to fix the problems.

The next tier two tech who tells me to dial *228 to reprogram my android will hear a ear full and will get a transfer to their supervisor.

I am done with Verizon love the network don't enjoy the tech support.

Actually, the network is not that good or we could get data on our Bionics

I think it's more a hardware problem than anything. My original Droid had pretty consistent 3G access, this phone doesn't. That suggests an issue with the phone, not with Verizon.

All the 4G devices that i have tried have flacky 4G connection that is it drops back to 3G way too often then it will never go back to 4G unless you reboot the phone. That made me just drop 4G completely and have gotten a D3, then an iphone 4S never had an issue and i stream radio while driving, never a skip or anything while on 3G.

I think 3G is a much more viable solution for data unless you need the speed of LTE for tethering otherwise you are just burning battery while carrying a huge brick with flacky connection.

The issue you mention is found in all phones because current LTE devices does not have voice over LTE so the phone has 2 radio chips one for LTE and the other for 3G, that can be a bit tricky because the 3G has to be kept on all the time for voice while LTE for data then switching back and forth. I will not touch an LTE device again until a single LTE/CMDA SOC is available with a decent battery life and a more manageable size.

I know it is an issue with the phone. My issue is with Verizon not wanting to replace the phone and give me something else that will work. It is not just the data connection, it is ALL connections. I constantly miss calls and don't recieve or send texts in areas where I've NEVER had problems getting signal (metro areas at that). Verizon would not be a company without the devices to offer their service, but what good is their service if the product you buy to get the service never does? I was even misinformed by the Verizon rep that sold me the phone and they still would not take the phone back! She told me 14 days if I don't like the phone and 30 days if there is a problem. I went 17 days into the phone and they wouldn't replace it with a new Bionic (I did not want a $300 used phone) and since then I have just wanted to return it straight up.

And at this point, I believe pappy works for Verizon lol

I am with you on this. Unless Verizon steps up and does something now to fix the problem (i.e. take the friggin phones back) then one by one I'm moving my contracts to somewhere else. I don't want to since I've been with verizon for over 10 years and a lot of people I know have Verizon but if I keep getting phones that don't work and don't include the service Verizon is providing then what good is it to even have their service.

I bought my Droid in October and it worked fine for a few weeks. Now its started to lose texts and some of the time I am not even receiving ! Okay this is pretty rude since I just bought this phone and it is too late to return it and pick another one. I figure they will fix it eventually but in the meantime I use this phone for work. I manage two stores and it is essential that my supervisor can maintain contact with me. Texts work best. So I am really angry about this myself. I know Verizon is not the culprit but as my provider they better be part of the solution.
