And others could take the time to give you an answer that is valid for your phone and email client.

I have this problem as well. When I enter a birthday or a birthday and anniversary into a contact when I call up that contact it shows the birthday twice and the anniversary twice. Is there a way to fix this?

It makes no since to demand for something to be fixed if it hasnt verified as a problem... I had this issue when I ran MyBackup and allowed Google to sync, I resolved by deleting copy and made sure to uncheck calendar info to be restored, are you using only Google as your backup app. Backup Assistant can make this happen also.

I haven;t demanded anything, merely asked a question as to whether there was a way to fix an apparent problem. When I add a birthday or anniversary to a contact, the date and it's title appears twice. This happens before and after any sync.
Here are two examples:

I had this problem when I discovered I put the event on iCal which copied it to Google calendar and then synced to the phone which saw 2 of the same event. Perhaps you are entering the event twice without realizing it.

Thanks for the quick replies, no I wasn't entering it twice. There's no way under CONTACTS to enter two birthdays or two anniversaries - you can only enter one birthday and one anniversary per contact, which is what I did. This is in the Droid X Contacts on the phone not anything external.
Here's the steps to enter a birthday and the result

Sorry, I stand corrected, it seemed that you was demanding for a fix.. Probally the easiest way to fix this is log into Google account on pc and goto contact and remove the double appointments from your calendar and then this should sync with your device to resolve the issue.

I found I have duplicates also when I manually enter the information and the contact I entered it into had already entered it in themselves in via facebook or other synced contact lists.
Point being, if your contact already entered their birthday or anniversary in FB and you synced FB contacts, that information should be in their contact card already.
Good luck!
