Often when I send a text, the recipient tells me that they just got 3 (not one) BLANK texts from me...why is this happening?

What I would guess is when you press the send button your figure isn't being completely on the are on screen, kind of like a rocker... I have done 2 message myself a few times when I was getting use to the capacitive touch screen because that respond of a lite touch from finger verse my previous devices was using a resistive screen that required a touch from a pointed object to react.  Try watching your finger pressure when clicking send button I believe this should help..

Randomly, my texts are sent and the person receiving the text tells me it is either blank or just characters and sometimes 5 of the same jumble is sent . This has been happening for many, many months and it never happened on my original Droid. I receive text messages without a problem. All of my texts are sent to other Verizon customers. There doesn't seem to be any reason the texts send jibberish. At some point, the texts miraculously begin sending the actual message again.

I have removed the battery, powered down, restarted the phone and nothing seems to solve the problem.

Interestingly, I never have problems with blank texts when I am texting to another Droid.

I find it interesting that each of you on this post experiencing the same issue has a DROID X. I too have a DX and have not experienced these messaging issues. This commonality I believe eliminates the possibility of this being an issue with the network, but rather the phones are the culprits here. I recommend replacing the DROID X's that are showing these symptoms with Certified Like New Replacement devices, if qualified. For us to determine your replacement eligibility, I invite LLS and roniraem to PM me with your wireless number and a contact number where I can reach you. I will be happy to review your individual accounts to determine the best replacement option available to you.

Thanks, and I look forward to speaking with you.

It doesn't surprise me at all that the users posting about this problem in this forum are only DROID X owners. This is the DROID X forum within the Verizon Wireless community. Out of the number of users on the forum, only a few users will cross post across the community. It is entirely possible that there are other posts in the other sections of the DROID portion of the Verizon Wireless community.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I have only had my Droid X for about 2 months.... I was also experiencing problems with sending blank texts... Turns out that it was caused by my signature... I was using various symbols in the signature, and it was causing the issue... I took them out and texts went through correctly... There are some symbols you can use in signature without any problems, you just have to test them as you try them out.... Hope this helps !!!!
