bookmark favorites on home screen

How can I put a bookmark favorites on home screen widget on.I tried the long press and found it, but nothing happens. Do I need to download an app.-just want to save a step from going into browser and then hitting bookmarks.-THANKS

You should be able to long press on an empty area of your homescreen and bring up a menu. Click on "shortcuts", then click on "bookmarks". Find the bookmark you want and click on it. That should place the bookmark onto the screen.

You need to be sure there is enough available screen real estate where you want to place the widget. Try placing it on a blank screen to determine the size, then long press and drag to where you want it (after you have made room, of course).

I use "Colorize Widgets" and they give you a scrolling bookmark widget that is just like Sense UI, it is free from market...
