How do I scroll to another month in the calendar. I seem to only be able to do it by the days.  big hassle when going 3-4 months ahead.

Since you are saying you are only seeing days mean you are in the Day View...  Click LEFT menu button while on calendar and select Mounth from list and then to see futher months just swipe finger up screen while on the calendar month view.
