camcorder Volume

Is there a way to increase the audio volume when taking video.  We had a quiet room, chose scene "Subject" but you can barely hear the video on playback.  I don't see a setting to increase the audio volume for the microphone ...  I asked at my local store and they didn't know how to increase the audio volume pick-up either ...

Well you might want to make sure tha you didnt disable the carmera mic facing the shot, when you are in camera mode slide the on screen menu out from the right side of screem and make sure the scene option is set to everyday or subject if you just want the voices recorded from the  camera side that you are shooting, also I noticed that the software added a number of extra volume slides for curtian individual apps. Try going into the Settings/Sound/Volume menus and make surre all slider are turned up and make sure its not just the playback is low.

I have shot a number of test videos and the audio came through very well on my device, I think it may just be a slider set wrong.

Hope this helps, Good Luck.

Here's what we've tried on our Droid x ... we went to camcorder/Scenes/Subject  ... hit record ... the video is fine, we just can only faintly hear the audio.  From what I understand about the devise, Subject means that the front mic is on right?  I took the device to my local Verizon Cell store, they couldn't get the audio to be any louder either.

As far as your comment about going to Settings/Sound/Volume ... I don't have that path on my Droid x ... What I do have is Settings/Sound&Display  but I don't see any settings for audio volume for the camcorder anywhere ...

We're at the point were we really, really need to record some video but are thinking we need to buy a Flip video or something because not hearing the audio is killng using the Droid x for this purpose which is quite frustrating because with 3 mics, this design should work!!

What version of the OS do you have, is it 2.2? In Settings, the sound section and the display section should be two different sections. In the Sound section, there is a section referred to as Media audio effects. Unfortunately, at least on my Droid, I have nothing that specifically is for the camcorder. I hate to tell you, but I've made several videos using "everyday'" and "Subject" and my sounds are nice and clear. It just may be your phone.
