Text messages are in threader form and should show up in a conversation layout when you open messages.
For emails, try opening email windows and then click the account name at top left and select Sent from list.. email sent items are not allowed on all accounts, it depend on the available access to the email server the ISP accounts allows, a number of ISP only allow incoming messages ro be shown on device... My roadrunner account is like this.
