Last night, my DX (version 2.2) would, every two minutes say "Loss of Signal" then follow up immediately with "Verizon Wireless" while stationary in the same place it sits when charged every night. I tried relocating the phone and that did not help, nor did the standard battery pull and since I use the alarm on the phone as my wake up alarm, so putting it on mute while charging is not going to work.
The charging process had completed around 1:30am, so out of curiosity, I disconnected the phone and waited to see if the loss of signal and verizon wireless messages continued: They did not. I then plugged the phone back in, and the messages started again almost instantly.
Has anyone out there in the VZW multiverse experienced this kind of strangeness and if so, how did you resolve it. (*IF* you resolved it.)
btw - when I saw the messages about the new s/w update this morning I thought maybe that was the cause but my DX is still @ 2.3.15MB810 so nope.

Try doing a PRL update on the device by dialing *228 option 2.
