difficulty in getting microsoft exchange to work for email and calendar

I tryed getting my phone to sync with my microsoft exchange server for my email and calendar. It gave me a message of "success". the email seems to be working but it is not getting my calender information. I went back to delete the account and try adding it again, but it is not shown in my accounts list and when I try to add it again, it says I cant because it already exists. Any suggestions?

I have provided some information below that may help with exchange email.
Step 1 – Complete a soft reset.
-Power off the device.
-Remove the battery for 20 seconds
-Place the battery back in the device
-Power the device back on.
Step 2 – Try deleting accounts application data. Instructions shown below:
***Please note that you may have to sign back into any accounts were data was deleted.
