Power Device Off First.....
1. Hold Home Button and press power
2. Screen will show a Android with a triangle with astrick
3. Let Go of Home Button and Power
4. Press Search Button (Far Left Button)
5. A blue menu will show at top of page, scroll to Format Device
6. Select Yes to verify
7. Allow format to complete (Information at bottom of page will go through a few steps)
8. Once Format is complete Blue Menu will show at top again, select Reboot
Note: Use volume up and down to select opinion and use camera button as Enter,,,
This will reset device and you may loose some data but most can be restored from Google and Market..... Hope this helps, if you backed up information regularly all should be recoverable.

When he pulled the batt did he also hold the power button in for about 20 or 30 Seconds give this a try an see if works. Next if that dont work pull the batt again do the hold on the power with the battery out then reinstall the batt an plug it in wall charger then hold in on the power button see if you have a full charge if shows full pull the plug out an repower it an see what happens. Let me know.

Well wildman might be able to help ya he's real good when it comes to the X he's helped many of people but if it cant be fixed an it's under the 14 days i would get another if you can.

Lets try this hold your bottom volume rocker in an then hold your power button in an see what it does when it comes on. it shoud take you to setting menu to were you can reboot the phone. give that a try.
