Is anybody else having problems downloading apps? Was fine last week. yesterday started getting an error message saying must have wifi to download app . All my other apps were downloaded without wifi on. the wifi was draining my battery, i think that was part of it. was also having trouble maintaining a connection with my home wifi. went to local verizon store, they said they had a guy in yesterday with same problem, but they had non answer.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble downloading specific apps! I am here to assist.
What specific application were you trying to download? What was the exact error message? Are you able to now connect your device with your WiFi Hotspot? Are you able to connect any other WiFi capable devices to your WiFi Hotspot?
Let me know so I can further assist you.

I am having this same exact issue and it's DRIVING ME NUTS! What good is a smartphone if you can'tn download apps or update the ones you have! I have tried clearing the cache and everything else I can think of, and the Market gets hung up indefinitely. I hope someone can help offer a solution that works because I'm getting ready to get rid of this phone and I've only had it a few weeks.

Check to see if Data Saver in on. Menu > Settings > Battery & data manager > Data saver. If Data Saver is checked then downloads will wait for WiFi.

Thanks you for the data saver advice. I have been going crazy trying to get this new app downloaded. I even took the battery out and did a re-boot and it was still there. Finally it finished downloading. My Droid never did this! Only the new Droid 3
