droid without email service - just data for web surfing

I want to buy the Droid but I don't want it for Email. I just want it for voice, texting and surfing. I currently have the family share plan with three lines and unlimited texting. Is there a plan for just adding data without email service for the Droid? If I dont want email service can I use the Family connect or premium plan?

I have the same question. I want a pre when it comes out in January or an android device but don't need e-mail. I want it to replace my old Palm TX, which has both an mp3 player and wireless access. Nearby hotspots are good enough for me.

However, all phones with wireless access appear to require e-mail.

You have to get at least the $30 plan, regardless of your use. You can choose not to use e-mail, but will need to set up a gmail account.
