I received a system update this am, probably the 2.2 from Android, but afterward, all I have is the Motrola "M" on the screen, but no further progress to the boot. I tried removing the battery to no avail...Any suggestions???

IDK but I have the same problem. It's extremely annoying.

Does it show the Motorola M screen and go blank and show it again like it's hung in a boot loop? From flashing roms, it can sit on the M for 10-15min or more. If it doesn't come up, you have 3 options: a) boot into recovery and try to manually install the update, b) go to verizon and see if they can reinstall 2.0.1 or 2.1 on it or c) manually unbrick your device using RSDlite (same software verizon uses).

Not sure if/how much I can talk about it. Just google for instructions on "unbricking a droid" and you'll need a PC also (mac won't work). I'd go to verizon first and see what they can do.

Sure - turn off the phone, remove the SD card and boot it that way. If it boots, put the SD card into a reader and connect to your computer (not in the phone, in a USB connected SD card reader). Check for music, video, and photo folders that have more than 2 GB in one folder. If you find a folder with more than 2 GB, copy those files to your computer and remove them from the SD card (be sure to copy to your computer!). Boot the phone with the SD card in place. If it works now, you can copy the files back, but put them into sub folders so that you don't have more than 2 GB in one folder. Let us know if that works for you.

I took my phone into verizon wireless this morning, they couldnt do anything other than mail me a new phone. No loaner phone until my new phone comes in. I just have to wait, with out a phone, even though VW caused the problem.
