is anyone having trouble with receiving emails (not gmail)? my droid x seems to not receive emails consistently.
Same problem here. Posted this earlier today....
I have two Droid 2's, mine and my wife's. We noticed yesterday that email is not updating automatically on either. You can manually sync, but does not update (fetch, sync) automatically as set in the schedule. Gmail is fine, just the other emails. I also noticed that the calendar widget now is not updating, showing a past appointment. I have been through the settings of email and deselected options and selected them again with no results. Any ideas or anyone else have this problem recently? Network problem maybe?
I'm having the same problem. Anytime that happened, I open the emails and then after a minute I notice all emails start showing up.
When my Email doesn't come in and/or I do not get the notification light blinking, I normally turn off my Droid and then turn it back on. This usually solves that problem. I know that I should be getting at least one Email in the morning since I am subscribing to an Enewspaper.
However, if you are constantly not receiving email or can not send email, I would check my port settings to make sure they are correct.
I'm having the same issue, restarting the phone does nothing (i've done 4 times already). Exchange server settings have not changed, nothing has changed on my end settings wise...
This just started happening a few days ago.
JetDL, question...have you downloaded any apps recently, before you began having Email problems? If so, try uninstalling any you might have installed just before these problems reared their ugly heads. Next, try your Email again. If it now works fine, its the apps. These apps are written by individuals like you and me. They do not have the capability to really check out their product on all the phones. Therefore, some of these apps play havoc with the phone.
Problem still there, only app that I've downloaded since then is PicSay, I downloaded the free version first (which i ran for a few weeks with no issues with email) and purchased the Pro version.
I removed the PicSayPro and restarted the phone, emails updated when restarted but after that would not update when new ones are received. Only other app change was the new update to Google Maps.

Next step is to check the notification status. Open up your apps drawer and scroll down to messaging. Tap on that. You should see all your Email accounts except the Gmail. Tap on any of your Email accounts to open that up. Open up the menu and tap on Email settings. Tap on Email delivery, not Notification. Is the check mark on Data push lit up? If not, tap on the check mark to make Data push available. Then check your Fetch schedule to see how often your Droid will look for new Email if Data push is unavailable. Now, tap on the return key and tap on Notifications. Is the check mark on Notifications lit? If not tap on it. Hope this helped, good luck.
I have done ALL OF EVERYTHING so far suggested here, but the Droid X still will not fetch or push. Any other ideas?
I have had the same problem since I purchased the Droid X and if you do some research, you will see that almost everyone is having the same issues with all Motorola smartphones, including the new Droid Pro.
It appears my issues have been fixed since an update was pushed to my DROID X the other day.
On my Verizon Droid X, I get my emails, but the app exits on it's own after a few seconds. If I delete an email within that time, it's back after I reload my email app.
